Several bomber squadrons of the Archeuland Air Force had been bombing the city and outlying suburbs, taking few casualties in the process. The Archeulandic Navy had sailed around the edge of Genevievia and made its way up the Gilnean coast, bombarding the city. The coordinated bombings allowed troops to move in on certain areas without risk of friendly fire.

Slowly, the troops gained ground and less and less of the city experienced bombing as it had almost completely destroyed. By dawn, the city had capitulated, and the Emperor had sent his declaration of war to the Gilnean Kaiser.

In Gilneas City, Kaiser Hilthill studied the declaration carefully and with surprise. At the same time several hundred miles away, the Archeulandic air force was splitting up and targeting specific areas.

Emperor Markus had been moved to a mobile command station north of Berlin, Prussia, where he was coordinating the attack with his generals. The radar was being closely monitored for fear of Gilnean nuclear strike. Archeuland's nuclear arsenal was strategically moved to unexpected locations and hundreds of decoy nukes had been set up to distract the Gilnean radar. Three squadrons of fighter planes were ready to scramble at a moment's notice.

Other preparations, more detailed, had been made. The major cities had been evacuated - Massouba was all but empty, leaving behind a large contingency of militiamen, volunteers, soldiers, and antiaircraft gunners.

Citizens had taken refuge in large camps set up all around the country, as well as in the homes of relatives and friends.

At the same time, the advance force was prepared to fall back to meet up with the approaching Grand Army of Archeuland, which was on the way to begin the conquest of Gilneas.

Sometime during the Siege, Hank the Cat invites Markus with a formal letter to the Bordering Mountains of Hank which border Deien-Salazar, to visit the defensive encampments.

OFFCIAL LETTER FROM THE OFFICE OF PRESIDENT HANK THE CAT

Markus, would you like to come to our Mountain Defenive Line? I would like my Vice President, Honda Kiku, to help dissuade any fears you may have about the Commonwealth Military Forces. When we finish Gilneans, this will be the first line of defense during the Feng Dystanty counter-attack. The following day, well into the invasion of Gilneas, Emperor Markus arrived in a secret airbase in the Mountains of Hank. Markus said with a salute, "President Hank, hello!"

Escorted by guards, he entered a command area. "These are the plans for battle, I see. I will be committing two hundred thousand for the invasion of Feng, and six squadrons of the air force for the bombing of Yujing and their other cities."

Vice President Honda Kiku arrives to greet him.

Honda Kiku: I'm very sorry the President couldn't been here. As you can see, he has a lot of things to deal with in his term. ("Terms" are until death) And as such, he could not attend this tour. As you can see, this fortress is very powerful, and the President himself set the design for this.



Honda Kiku: Please follow me. I will show you this battleground that we have held for many years.

"Good good," said Markus.

A thousand miles away, Gilnean troops were being obliterated.

Honda Kiku leads Markus down a hallway in the mountains. Sandbags are piled up in places, and a small bridge cross's from one side to the next.

Honda Kiku: I'm sorry if you are afraid of heights. It's just that these mountains are..rather large. We had to..use all the space we could use.

(A pair of Commonwealth Soldiers, dressed in pure white versions of the Chinese Military Uniform, one with white bandage's all over his left eye, get up from their posts and salute Emperor Markus.)

Honda Kiku: As you can see, our Garrison here is very large, and we keep about 2500 Active men here every month. And that's just Infantry. There is support personal, operators, officers..

Honda Kiku: (They would enter a room inside the base. The base would be filled with well-kept pictures of President Hank the Cat, and large stacks of ammo would be set up for the large three cannons set up on the Topside of the base, facing the small Feng Dystanty village of Han, named after Hank the Cat for the border with the Commonwealth.)

Honda Kiku: Do you see that large cavern down there? Those Tanks down there are the Tsunami T-045b 145mm Tank we utilize. They are used when we have to have Heavy Armor on the run. As you can also see, we have a large garrison inside this base.

(A young maid comes up to Markus and shows him a large mink fur coat, which the Commonwealth would like to give him because it is rather cold in the Commonwealth. The "Land of Eternal Winter" with it's Snowflake Flag.)

Markus accepted the coat and put it on. "Thank you madam," he said to the maid, who curtsied and then walked away.

"A fine setup here indeed," said Markus, sitting down at a table. "I must say I am impressed. This fortress is impenetrable, or at least we would like to think, yes? Now then, I have begun the transport of a few thousand troops to serve as an advance force to aid you in the conquest of Feng. Meanwhile, you should be aware that our forces have both made significant strides, so when you see the President please inform him that the Gilneans are bottlenecked on two parts of their peninsular area. We are going to continue our bombing raids until the Gilneans surrender, which we all know will take some time. They are a resilient folk."

Markus reached for a piece of paper in his pocket and pulled it out, unfolding it neatly and setting it in front of Kiku. "This should be an accurate detail. We have nearly annexed their mainland territories and are moving in on the peninsula."

Will they be deploying troops for invasion purposes, mostly in self-defense? You are aware that attacking the Feng Dystanty will be a war declaration on the entire Usean Federation? Or at least they will view it that way.

Honda Kiku leads Markus into a room stocked with ammo, and leads him up some steps and opens a door, revealing one of the three large cannons overlooking the Feng Side of the Border. Soliders are wandering around near it.

Honda Kiku: The Commonwealth invasion force, commanded by Li Xiao Chun, who is a four-star general who likes to take part in battle's himself. We've had our..debates, but he overall is a excellent General. I trust he will do well.

Honda Kiku: We will be sending 2 Million Men to the front, along with 547 Tsunami Tanks, 52 Atlas-Class Heavy Artillery 175mm Cannons, and 40 Ninjas. Do you know about the Deku Tribes? The Deku King has decided to send 500 Deku Scrub's to the front lines in this invasion. The Unggoy have brought up 2000 Troops to help in the Invasion. Overall, we will march into Feng Lands, and launch a large campaign into their lands. We also have 9 Regiments of Bombers. We will completely rain down destruction on them.
